Digistorm

Establishing a scalable and unique brand strategy for a K-12 school software company.
As a proudly Australian company founded on the Gold Coast in 2011, Digistorm developed the first school app in Australia and now have over 950 local and international clients delivering world-class technology for private schools in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Asia and America.

As Digistorm evolved, launched additional products and expanded to new markets, the need to establish a cohesive brand and scalable visual communication solution became evident.

As the Lead of a small design team, we worked with the founders and Marketing team to create a new brand true to Digistorm’s heritage, while also reflecting its reputation for innovation and excellence. We started the project with a brand study, surveying all long-term employees of the company to understand what made Digistorm so unique. From there, we were able to establish the company’s brand foundations — values, mission and messaging — to guide the rebrand. We proceeded to refine the core visual elements such as logos, colours and typography while adding key and unique elements into the mix to create a new visual identity system.

We continued by testing each aspect of the new brand to ensure it fits the new framework. Some elements were kept, and others were revisited until we had a seamless and strategic identity that could be proudly adopted by all members of the Digistorm team. We started rolling out the new brand, including the company’s website redesign, recreating internal and external documents and consistently applying the brand from marketing material to client documentation, ensuring the brand's integrity and consistency across all platforms.

To conclude this project, we created the digital Digistorm Brand Guidelines, accessible to all employees. This guide allows everyone in the company to download the latest branding assets and provides instructions for properly applying them. Creating and sharing this guideline has streamlined disseminating the new brand standards, easing onboarding by giving new hires a single source for Digistorm’s brand identity and communication strategy.
